In February 2020, famous American singer Selena Gomez announced the plans to launch her own cosmetics brand called Rare Beauty (RB). On September 3, she released the first makeup collection, which included 48 impressive shades of foundation and concealers, lipsticks, eye products, and highlighters.
Rare Beauty products are designed for everyday self-expression, and each product has a unique sensorial story. Since the brand’s inception, Selena has been involved in every step of product development. Whether it’s testing each product or developing a design for the first-of-its-kind Blot & Glow Touch-Up Kit that’s convenient to carry, Selena has influenced every aspect.

The products, which counts close to 20 different varieties, feature a “wide range of colors,” according to Page Six.
The brand offers foundation and concealers that both come in 48 shades. Reports deem the wide range of shades as “impressive,” considering that not all cosmetic brands offer the same number of selections.
Rare Beauty also has liquid eyeliners and blushes that come in eight shades. Four of the shades are dewy, while the other four are matte. In addition to the list, the brand has eight shades of tinted lip balm, eight shades of liquid highlighter, and 12 shades of liquid lipstick. Eight shades of brow pencil and gel duo are also available.
Alongside the make-up goods, Selena Gomez also included several skincare products. Rare Beauty offers a setting mist, blotting papers, and an illuminating primer.
Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty – A Rare Impact
In addition to being a budget-friendly brand, Rare Beauty has already established itself as a brand with a purpose. In July 2020, the brand announced the Rare Impact Fund, an effort to raise $100 million in the next 10 years to support mental health services while destigmatizing the discussion around mental health.
