Anna Marisax and the thousand fake accounts that exploit (without her knowledge?) her image

This has been going on for years. The first video in which Anna Marisax, a Polish youtuber ‘famous’ for being a lawyer and having chosen a life as an influencer, alerts her followers to ‘some’ profiles exploiting her name and image.

It is now 2024. And these accounts are not only still there but have grown into thousands. On every social. From Facebook to Instagram, from TikTok to Twitter. There are thousands of accounts using the name Anna Marisax on the net.

What is a romance scam and why do they use the name Anna Marisax?

A romance scam is when someone receives messages from stolen accounts that appear to be romantically interested in the recipient. They woo him (applies to both men and women) until they have ‘baked him to perfection’ and move on to the suggestive step. A fake video call, often made by recording a voice over a video stolen from the original profile. Then they come to the demands for money. The excuse is that they are in trouble, that they have rent to pay, or that they want to reach ‘the beloved’ and therefore need money to buy a plane ticket.
The victim then believes it so much that he/she sends the first money. Usually the scammer gives his or her real name (the only way to receive the money) with the excuse that the name is that of an acquaintance, that she or he does not have a bank account. And anyway they are usually transactions with wetransfer or similar money transfer systems. And then the requests continue and by the time the victim realises the scam, sometimes thousands of euros are gone. When the victim refuses to pay more money the scammer first gets angry, tries sentimental blackmail and then blocks the victim on all channels. And she disappears.

Why her

Anna Marisax has a few thousand profiles that are just scams. In the meantime, her official channels do not allow messages to be sent, and when they do, one receives an automatic reply message referring to the official channels, an email for commercial requests and a subscription channel of Only Fans.
The figure of the youtuber lends itself to this game. Provocative, blonde, very exposed on social media. Her videos attract many men, and when they receive the first message from this blonde, they feel flattered. And many fall for it. Out of naivety, because they are innocent and believe that no one can ever hide behind a fake profile.

The youtuber’s indirect gain

Now let’s try to understand why a famous youtuber like her, who earns hundreds of thousands of euros, has not, since 2017, stopped this scam. Simple. Every time one of her videos or photos is used to create a new fake profile, someone ends up on her official channels as well. This increases his views and, consequently, his earnings. Many, convinced that they are really talking to her, also buy her subscription and she still earns money. In short. Why stop such extensive and free publicity? We tried to contact the youtuber but she did not respond, not even through her manager.

Hopefully this article will open some people’s eyes. And maybe that Meta and the companies that own the various social networks will start doing something to stop scams like this. If you are also a victim of this game, write to us.
