Il ghiaccio ha avvolto i rami degli alberi, le foglie, i cavi elettrici, creando non pochi disagi e danni. Appesantiti dal peso del ghiaccio, infatti, molti alberi e rami sono caduti su strade e auto.
Le immagini sono impressionanti. A rischio anche il Survivor Tree, un olmo sopravvissuto all’attentato di Oklahoma City del 1995 e che sorge nel centro della città, nell’Oklahoma City National Memorial.
Negli scorsi giorni sono stati battuti molti record di freddo. Le temperature sono precipitate fino a -35 gradi nel Wyoming e fino a – 16 gradi in Montana.
